Tom Kundig Launches New Monograph

2020/06/23

On June 23, 2020, Olson Kundig Principal and Owner Tom Kundig’s fourth monograph, Tom Kundig: Working Title, was published by Princeton Architectural Press. The new book features 29 projects, highlighting the many diverse landscape, cultures and programs that make up his unique body of work.

Divided between residential and non-residential projects, Tom Kundig: Working Title traces the evolution of Kundig’s architectural practice. Drawing on his experience designing small residential homes set in dramatic landscapes, the projects illustrate a consistent sensitivity to the unique natural and cultural context of each project. The featured projects include both private and public work, spanning Collywood in West Hollywood, CA; the Wagner Education Center at the Center for Wooden Boats in Seattle, WA; MrSteam Headquarters in Long Island City, NY; and the high-performance Shinsegae International tower in Seoul, South Korea. The monograph also includes an introduction by journalist Mark Rozzo, a conversation between Kundig and Michael Chaiken, Curator of the Bob Dylan Archive, and the full text of Kundig’s speech accepting the University of Washington Distinguished Alumni Award in 2018.

Tom Kundig: Working Title is available to purchase through Princeton Architectural Press, Amazon and other booksellers.
