2021/09/01

Today Olson Kundig is proud to announce a number of promotions within the firm. Romie de Hillary has been promoted to Director of Legal Affairs and several architectural design staff members have been promoted to Associate: Senan Choe, Simon Clews, Meghan Griswold, Jesse Kingsley, Laura Sinn, Hallie Terzopolos, Todd Walbourn and Brian Walters. These promotions recognize each individual’s internal leadership and impact at Olson Kundig, as well as their exceptional contributions to the firm’s diverse portfolio of work around the world.

Romie de Hillary, JD, works with project managers, principals, and executive and administrative teams to help strategically drive and support projects, business initiatives and growth, assess risk, and protect and promote the firm’s designs and reputation. Romie is active in local and nationwide construction law sections and associations, as well as local non-profit and arts organizations.

Senan Choe, AIA, has a background in retail, hospitality and residential projects, and has worked on many of Olson Kundig’s large-scale luxury hospitality projects, merging both private residential and communal hotel amenities. Senan has strong experience in conceptually driven designs and is passionate about finding innovative solutions to design challenges of all scales.

Simon Clews originally came to Olson Kundig through the firm’s International Internship Program, and has risen through the ranks as a project architect / project manager with a focus on custom single-family homes. Born and educated in New Zealand, Simon has been instrumental in expanding the firm’s portfolio of residential work across Australia and New Zealand.

Meghan Griswold has a wide range of experience working on high-end, award-winning residential projects that enhance connections between built and natural environments. Meghan enjoys the complex process of design throughout a project’s lifespan, from early concept stages to completion, with a special interest in wood construction and timeless building materials.

Jesse Kingsley specializes in single-family residential projects, translating ambitious design concepts into refined architecture. Jesse fosters a deeply collaborative approach on his projects, first building relationships with clients to understand their needs and motivations and working closely with project teams to deliver homes that capture each project’s unique vision.

Laura Sinn is a highly versatile designer who has demonstrated her detail-oriented, highly organized approach on multiple large-scale, mixed-use, technologically complex projects. No matter the project type, Laura brings her interest in human interaction with architecture, choreographing an experience through individual, tactile moments to dynamic, community events.

Hallie Terzopolos has extensive experience on cultural, installation, single-family residential and luxury hospitality projects around the world. Hallie works to distill creative input from diverse stakeholder groups, centering on the guest perspective and integrating unique moments that enhance guests’ procession through spaces.

Todd Walbourn, AIA, has decades of experience across residential, institutional, workplace, cultural and retail projects and is often challenged to create spaces that combine complex programs with diverse, overlapping uses. An avid traveler, Todd enjoys the collaborative nature of design and opportunities to learn from clients and stakeholders.

Brian Walters, AIA, LEED® AP, is drawn to large-scale mixed-use projects, often incorporating tenant improvements, historic building adaptation or food and beverage elements. In his work, Brian seeks to uncover historical threads of the built environment and urban fabric, weaving them into his designs to connect users with each other, history and place.

“It’s a deep honor to work with people of this caliber, and we could not be more thrilled to announce these promotions,” shares Tom Kundig, FAIA, RIBA. “Inside the studio, they have all made big contributions to the culture of innovation and creativity at the heart of our practice. Their dedication as advocates for our clients and projects, and mentors to emerging staff members, drives our practice forward and allows us to take on new challenges and continue pushing the boundaries of design.”
