Two Olson Kundig Staff Promoted to Principal

Olson Kundig is proud to announce that two staff members – John Riordan and Todd Matthes – have been promoted to Principal. This promotion recognizes their exceptional contributions to the firm’s diverse portfolio of work around the world, as well as their impact on Olson Kundig’s internal initiatives and studio culture.
John Riordan, AIA, LEED AP, has more than 23 years of experience across a broad range of project types, including private residences, hospitality, cultural, commercial and mixed-use projects. He frequently works with international technology companies to design high-tech workplaces, and draws on his generalist background to incorporate meaningful elements of other typologies into these assignments. John’s ability to balance program, design and client vision results in functional, hard-working spaces that reflect the unique culture and values of each organization.
Todd Matthes works across a broad range of project types, from private residences, retail and hospitality, to large-scale mixed-use and multi-unit residential. With over 20 years of experience, he is known for his ability to establish productive partnerships between team members, clients and collaborators. Todd’s commitment to active communication and establishing a shared vision amongst his teams allows him to effectively manage large-scale projects with diverse stakeholder and community groups.
