Tom Kundig Featured on Business of Architecture UK Podcast

In January, Olson Kundig Principal and Owner Tom Kundig, FAIA, RIBA, was interviewed by the Business of Architecture UK podcast. Hosted by architect Rion Willard, the Business of Architecture UK podcast engages leading architects and designers in conversation about their approach to running a financially successful and creatively impactful design practice.

Throughout the episode, titled “Running a Global Multi-Generational Practice,” Rion and Tom discuss a variety of topics, including the importance of residential work in the firm’s portfolio, how to find good clients and the complexities of running a large firm with multiple distinct design perspectives.

The episode is available to stream on podcasting platforms, and via Business of Architecture UK’s website.

Sometimes architecture is more complex at the smaller residential scale, sometimes it’s more complex at the larger institutional scale – but to see the cycle on a residential project, to work with the craftspeople on the site, to work with a client, to work with a design direction and work technically on these buildings, you almost get a master’s class in what the business of architecture is about.
