Olson Kundig Announces Principal & Associate Promotions

Olson Kundig is pleased to announce multiple promotions within the firm. Christopher Butler, Amanda Chenoweth, Lindsay Kunz, Alivia Owens and Erica Williams have been promoted to Principal, while Leah Davis, Alex Fritz, Matt Hostetler, Allison Johnson, James Juricevich, Christian Poules, Derek Santo and Hilary Schanck have been promoted to Associate. These promotions recognize each individual’s leadership and impact on the culture of Olson Kundig, as well as their exceptional contributions to the firm’s diverse portfolio of work around the world.

Christopher Butler, AIA, LEED® AP BD+C, has expertise working at a variety of scales with non-profit, cultural and commercial clients. A craftsman and problem-solver at heart, his dedication to collaboration and balancing the many intricacies at play throughout a project’s lifespan allows his teams to anticipate and navigate challenges.

Amanda Chenoweth works closely with teams on project types ranging from high-end residential to hospitality and commercial interiors, informed by her architecture background. She works to create bespoke interior environments, tailoring her designs to the needs and tastes of each client and often sourcing one-of-a-kind pieces.

Lindsay Kunz, AIA, has experience on a wide range of projects with an emphasis on residential and cultural sectors. She has continuously refined her skills on these projects, working closely with clients, project teams, contractors and consultants throughout every phase of design and construction.

Alivia Owens, LEED® AP, has worked across a broad range of project types since joining Olson Kundig, including large-scale residential projects. A highly organized and detail-oriented architect, she enjoys collaborating with craftspeople and artisans, as well as interior design teams, to incorporate interesting materials and textures.

Erica Williams, AIA, LEED® AP BD+C, is experienced both as an architect and as a project engineer for a general contractor, contributing to her broad range of skills in both design and construction delivery. Her work encompasses a variety of project types, with a focus on large residential projects characterized by a sensitivity to the surrounding natural landscape.

Leah Davis leads large-scale workplace and hospitality projects where she excels at finding innovative solutions to complex design challenges. Colleagues and clients appreciate her collaborative management approach and ability to coordinate a diverse team of stakeholders, designers, craftspeople, builders and technical consultants.

Alex Fritz’s experience spans a variety of project types and scales where he works to align client goals and design vision. He enjoys complex problem-solving and projects that incorporate research-based design, such as new materials and sustainable strategies. Inspired by the outdoors, he is especially sensitive to the intersection of architecture and landscape.

Matt Hostetler, LEED® AP, focuses primarily on residential projects, spanning a wide spectrum of scales. He strikes to be a true generalist, working on every phase of the design and construction process to shepherd a project through its lifespan and forming lasting relationships with clients and partners. He also serves on Olson Kundig’s Facilities team, overseeing projects and updates within the office.

Allison Johnson, AIA, NCARB, LEED® AP BD+C, has experience in a variety of typologies including cultural, exterior civic public spaces, hospitality, mixed-use development, super-tall towers, historic preservation, and residential design. She specializes in high-performance design and the use of technology to advance projects from early concept phases through construction administration.

James Juricevich works on projects vastly ranging in size, type and location for higher education and cultural institutions, as well as private residential clients. Adept at designing for an intimate scale, he is also skilled at problem solving for large, complex buildings and sites.

Christian Poules’ project focus has been primarily single-family homes since joining Olson Kundig, including several active international projects. A skilled project manager and design contributor, he is adept at working closely with clients and team members, and has also been a mentor for the Design Your [Neighbor]hood programed hosted by Seattle Art Museum.

Derek Santo, LEED® AP BD+C, has experience working on a variety of single-family residential and commercial projects. He is a source of knowledge within the office for enclosure and envelope detailing, as well as a member of Olson Kundig’s internal Quality Control review team and dedicated mentor to colleagues.

Hilary Schanck’s work encompasses large-scale, complex projects across a broad range of project types, from private homes, hospitality and workplace, to large-scale mixed-use and multi-unit residential. She is inspired by the challenge and discovery in creating unique solutions at a range of spatial scales, and has led multiple data collective efforts to help project teams across the firm improve building performance.
