Matt strives to be a true generalist, working through every phase of the design and construction process to shepherd projects to completion and form lasting relationships with clients and partners.
Influenced by his upbringing in eastern Montana, especially the agricultural structures and homesteads of the region, Matt has a deep appreciation for the architecture of necessity. As a result, his design approach emphasizes function and efficiency to inform design solutions. A natural storyteller, Matt appreciates the language of architecture and the way a simple sketch can communicate design intent, evoke emotions, and describe how various parts and pieces add up to a cohesive whole.
He also serves on Olson Kundig’s Facilities team, overseeing projects and updates to the firm’s Seattle office, located in a historic timber, steel and masonry building.
