The LeBron James Innovation Center Receives AIA Northwest & Pacific Region Design Award

2022/09/23

On September 22, the LeBron James Innovation Center at Nike World Headquarters (led by principal/owner Tom Kundig, FAIA, RIBA) received a Merit Award from the 2022 AIA Northwest & Pacific Region design awards. This annual awards program recognizes architectural design excellence in projects from firms located in the Northwest and Pacific Region.

The LeBron James Innovation Center celebrates and advances Nike’s foundation of innovation. The design embodies the concept of speed, inspired by the high-performance physicality and athleticism the brand represents. Design studios, offices and meeting spaces, prototyping labs, an indoor research facility, and an inclined, 100-meter outdoor track establish the facility as a high-functioning workshop where the latest innovations in sport technology can be designed, built, tested and refined.

As a firm deeply rooted in the Pacific Northwest, we are honored to have our work recognized by this program, and extremely grateful to the teams and stakeholders across Nike, as well as the project partners and collaborators, we had the opportunity to work with on this project.
