The Jack Celebrates Topping Out

2022/12/15

The Jack, Seattle’s only commercial real estate development under construction along the new waterfront, reached a major milestone. Seattle-based real estate developer Urban Visions celebrated completion of The Jack’s rooftop with a topping out ceremony, marking the end of structural construction and the start of exterior finishings and interior work.

“We look forward to opening The Jack in 2023 along Seattle’s newly designed pedestrian friendly waterfront,” said Greg Smith, Urban Visions founder and CEO. “Urban Visions is committed to creating iconic spaces that reflect the region’s values while providing the kind of workspaces that foster innovation, collaboration and community, and The Jack is just that.”

Designed by world-renowned architect Olson Kundig and built by JTM Construction, The Jack expertly melds inspiration from nearby historic buildings with forward-thinking office amenities that aim to meet the needs of the workforce of today and beyond.

“I’ve always thought of The Jack as less revolutionary and more evolutionary,” said Tom Kundig, FAIA, RIBA, Design Principal. “My hope is that at the end of the day, it will feel like a smart, sensitive new building in a great, old neighborhood.”

The Jack’s modern features include WiredScore, WELL Building, LEED, Salmon-Safe and SEAM certifications, demonstrating Urban Vision’s dedication to creating sustainable and healthy workplaces that benefit people, the environment and society. The Jack’s 16,000-square-foot rooftop deck provides expansive Puget Sound views as well as Downtown and Stadium District prospects.

The Jack’s waterfront foreground offers direct access to open space, beach and a newly created habitat shelf. In addition, the building’s locale will provide access to nearby restaurants, shops and regional transportation hubs like light rail, commuter rail, water taxi, bus and major highways and freeways.

The Jack is located at 74 S Jackson St. The 8-story building is scheduled for completion in Q2 2023.
