Le Massif de Charlevoix is a tourism and recreation project representing a $230M investment. The project aims to reinvent tourism through the development of an ‘antiresort’, which doubles as an engine of regional economic development in the Charlevoix region of Quebec.

Olson Kundig is collaborating with MacKay-Lyons Sweetapple Architects, Rick Joy Architects, and Michael Boucher Landscape Architecture on the creation a master plan for Le Massif’s Mountain pole. The team is providing concept designs for lodging units (inn, chalets, loft-apartments and signature homes), a public square, boutiques, restaurants and cafés, along with public infrastructures comprised of a train station, terraces and promenades, a gondola and spa concept. The masterplan for the mountain sets out to create an authentic, diverse, and memorable year-round experience for both visitors and local inhabitants, which builds on the essential spirit of the place.
