Keynote: Inspirations from Nature with Jim Olson
Singapore Archifest 2025On June 26, principal/founder Jim Olson, FAIA joined the Singapore ArchiFest Conference as a 2025 keynote speaker. The conference gathered influential figures in architecture and design as they explored this year’s theme: Don’t (Just) Think Like An Architect!
In his talk, “Inspirations from Nature,” Jim shared how the natural world continues to shape and inspire his design philosophy, presenting case study projects from over six decades in practice.
“The beauty of the planet and everything in it amazes me. From cliffs on the ocean, to deserts and snowy mountains, to bird nests, beehives, and fox dens—all these creatures in nature have made homes here in the world, and I think architects can learn a lot from how they’ve done it.”
