His early adoption of digital tools, including his involvement in the development of a forward-thinking VR studio, has played a key role in fostering innovation across project lifecycles and client deliverables. His approach integrates broad experience in robotics, photography, and sound engineering, as well as best practices from external industries, ultimately embedding design technology solutions within the practice of architecture.
Gavin’s interest in design technology emerged while working on some of the firm’s most complex projects, such as The Burke Museum, the LeBron James Innovation Center at Nike World Headquarters, and a variety of laboratory, office, and residential projects. His work has developed and refined the tools and systems that allow internal design teams, clients, and external partners to effectively communicate ideas, navigate obstacles, and identify new opportunities across the project lifecycle. In addition to these efforts, Gavin has mentored over 120 interns, challenging them to explore technology within their work.
