Olson Kundig Unveils Design Renderings for Sommét Blanc, the Final Development in Deer Valley Resort’s Empire Pass District
Olson Kundig is pleased to share design renderings of Sommét Blanc, an unparalleled slopeside community on the last remaining parcel within Deer Valley Resort’s Empire Pass district in Park City, Utah. Built and developed by Aspen Group, the property features easy ski-in/ski-out access, panoramic views, and outstanding community amenities, in an exclusive and desirable location at Utah’s top ski resort.
“Real estate development always begins with the land,” shares Lynn Padan. “We were fortunate to acquire the last, best, ski-in/ski-out parcel on the upper mountain at Deer Valley Resort. From there, how do you best maximize your vertical product to match the value of the land? We were then fortunate to secure the services of the Olson Kundig team to do just that. We could not be more impressed with the design they have delivered, and could not be more thrilled as their vision is now becoming reality.”
Led by Olson Kundig design principals Tom Kundig, FAIA, RIBA, and Kirsten Ring Murray, FAIA, Sommét Blanc frames an experience of elevated alpine luxury through mountain modern design. Expansive windows, butterfly roof lines, and bold cantilevers create a signature architectural expression for the new development. Extensive opportunities for indoor/outdoor living provide an enhanced connection with the surrounding mountain landscape and foster an active, four-seasons lifestyle.
“The architecture at Sommét Blanc is deliberately quiet and deferential to its surroundings,” Tom shares. “The materiality and colors, as well as the proportions of the windows and the form of the structure, is intended to breakdown the scale of the building and allow it to reflect the scale of the landscape. The upper floors are meant to almost dissolve into their component parts, so that the building seems to be emerging from the mountain. Large windows and access to exterior spaces allow residents to choreograph their experience of the mountain landscape at all times of year.”
Sommét Blanc features a unique through-building unit layout, allowing residences to span the full floorplate for dramatic views both up and down the slopes, as well as access to natural daylight and naturally ventilating breezes. Each unit includes a generous heated deck or patio for comfortable four-seasons use, as well as shared access to an outdoor pool and patio with hot tubs and fire pits, après-ski lounge, and outdoor ski beach patio. The extensive amenity package further spans a fitness center and spa treatment rooms, restaurant and bar, game room, speakeasy, business center, and more.
“The homes at Sommét Blanc provide really special places for friends and families to have memorable, meaningful experiences together,” Kirsten adds. “The social aspect of the residences and amenity spaces is an integral feature of the design, reflecting an enhanced sense of community and opportunities to enjoy playing, gathering, dining, and socializing. From adventure to relaxation, prospect to refuge, the homes facilitate a full range of shared experiences on the mountain.”
Sommét Blanc is expected to open for the Winter 2026-2027 season. For more information, including sales inquiries, visit SommetBlanc.com.
