The Newman Center’s 8,000-square-foot building combines the sacred aspects of a 250-seat chapel with such practical elements as classrooms, office space, living space, a student lounge, a kitchen and a library. The mandate for the building was that it be a home for gathering and worship while fitting into its residential neighborhood context.
