Entertaining—centered on cooking and dining, both formally and informally—was a significant factor behind the complete remodel of this late-1970’s home. Living and dining areas are combined and a large, off-center pivoting steel door can either connect or conceal the kitchen. The resulting design emphasizes the simplicity found in the holistic treatment of the house and garden: a singular vision that relies on a limited palette of materials and elegant proportions of space.
