At the heart of San Francisco Bay, the Bay Football Club (also known as Bay FC) Training Facility is more than a high-performance training center—it’s a home for our athletes and a catalyst for innovation.
Bay FC Training Facility
San Fransisco, California

As the first National Women’s Soccer League team in the Bay Area, Bay FC sets a new standard for sports innovation with a world-class facility designed to drive peak performance and support total health. Located on Treasure Island with iconic sweeping 360-degree views—from San Francisco’s Financial District to the Golden Gate Bridge, Sausalito, the Bay Bridge and East Bay—the facility embraces California’s weather advantage to create an environment where athletes thrive, staff are supported, and fans feel connected to the future of the game.

Designed to be player-centric, the Bay FC Training Facility prioritizes athletes’ physical, mental, and emotional well-being. It blends sports science with a warm, residential sensibility. The Facility uses natural finishes, human-scaled architecture, and central courtyards with enhanced daylight and natural ventilation to create an environment where athletes can perform at their best and feel at home. Private training and recovery areas are designed to prevent injuries and enhance performance, while open social hubs strengthen connections between athletes and staff. Thoughtfully layered spaces balance privacy and community, allowing seamless transitions between training, preparation, and downtime. Beyond the pitch, the facility invests in the players’ long-term success, from career development to educational resources and business training.
Supporting the team is an ecosystem of coaches, trainers, and operational staff who manage the facility’s daily operations. The design streamlines their work by integrating clear circulation pathways and functional storage to eliminate the cluttered, ad-hoc spaces that often define athletic facilities. Workspaces with access to daylight, natural ventilation, and dedicated interaction zones keep staff engaged with the team and reinforce a sense of home.

Bay FC’s deep roots in the Bay Area are reflected in the facility’s design, innovation program, and location. In collaboration with the City of San Francisco and the Treasure Island Development Authority (TIDA), Bay FC complements existing and planned sports and recreational facilities on the island. Balancing accessibility and security, it includes opportunities for public engagement with spaces for community and youth soccer events, partner events, and more. Architectural details, locally sourced materials, and immersive environmental graphics express the club’s identity, fostering a sense of belonging and shaping the future of the club.
