Michael Monda

Director of Construction Integration

I enjoy the journey of learning throughout every project, and the ability to apply what I’ve learned the next time. Every challenge presents an opportunity to explore a new solution.

As Olson Kundig’s Director of Construction Integration, Michael (Mike) Monda works with our clients, designers and contractors to establish and understand the expectations for project priorities and find the balance between quality, schedule and budget.

Mike is a graduate of Washington State University, where he double majored in Architecture and Construction Management. This background, coupled with his passion for hands-on construction and craft, allows Mike to quickly understand the nuances of each project. He works closely with clients and project teams throughout the design and construction process to effectively manage expectations. Through his close attention to problem solving and focus on the project’s goals and vision, Mike helps to guide the work to successful delivery.

Before joining the firm in 2020, Mike worked as both an architect and contractor for more than 20 years. Most recently, he was a Project Director at Vulcan, where he worked closely with the owner to develop goals and expectations for capital improvement projects across the United States, as well as in England, France, Italy, Tanzania and Botswana. Working closely with architects, interior designers, consultants and contractors throughout the course of his career has given Mike unique insight into how these various disciplines can effectively collaborate to meet the client’s goals.

Outside of his project work, Mike is an avid boater and enjoys working on his 42-foot, 1963 Chris Craft. He is passionate about community service, and led four trips to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina to assist with cleanup and restoration.
