Quality and resilient design is recognized only when executed with a deep understanding of the adjacent industries that impact the realization of a building.
Mark Ours
Director of Project Delivery
As Director of Project Delivery, he works closely with firm leaders and project teams on design-to-construction refinement and innovation. Informed by diverse design and construction expertise honed through roles with architecture firms, developers, and project management consultants—plus a deep mastery of digital design tools—Mark guides the firm’s project delivery best practices, standards, and processes.
Originally from Los Angeles, Mark’s early architectural education in Arizona resulted in passionate advocacy for critical regionalism, inspired by the adaptive, resilient design inherent in desert architecture. This belief that buildings must be finely attuned to their environment continues to inform his work across considerations of materiality and form, as well as construction methods and local economies.
Mark is a self-described “design optimist,” driven by the challenge of optimizing building design and construction for both small and large-scale applications. He has broad experience in design, construction, and project management roles on civic projects and large-scale, multi-use projects in several of the country’s top urban centers, including New York City, Detroit, Cleveland, and Miami. Mark combines these technical skills with a deeply collaborative approach to help teams and clients anticipate challenges and proactively reduce friction. His deep commitment to active listen also allows him to understand the skills and passions of his teammates, supporting their individual development. Outside of work, Mark is a parent of two school-aged children, whose perspectives often help him experience life and architecture in New York City in new and inspiring ways.
